4/20 Disco Funk from Farleon

Nothing like this special holiday to get me in the mood for some funky fuckin’ disco. Out of Kazakhstan, Farleon is a producer with quite the catalog, featuring a number of originals and remixes that span the spectrum from four-on-the-floor house beats, dubstep massives, electro house bangers, 8-bit productions and even, yes, disco house. His latest is a remix of Martin Solveig‘s “The Night Out”, which you might remember already saw some pretty incredible and funky remixes from Madeon and TheFatRat. Completely charging the familiar vocals with a fat bassline and electronic guitar and synths abound, the remix ends up being a marvel reminiscent of Daft Punk‘s eclectic French sound. Hey, TheFatRat even commented on the track with a very positive review, so you know it’s gotta be good. Whatever you do, do not turn off the song until you get to the 2:30 mark for the awesome solo. Enjoy the free download here.

Ellie Goulding HALCYON Remix Album + Louis La Roche Remix

Ellie Goulding‘s voice will always have a spot in my heart as one of my favorite vocalists in the electronic game right now and I think most everyone would agree that it started a long time ago with Bassnectar‘s amazing remix of her song “Lights”. I have both of her albums, have enjoyed them on many occasions and am completely unashamed to say so. She’s worked with producers such as Calvin Harris and Madeon on her tracks, so it doesn’t come as a huge surprise that her ‘remix album’ would feature more of our favorite producers like Amtrac and Star Slinger. The remix album, being offered as a collaboration with Interscope in mixed format through Nike’s website, features 45 minutes back-to-back of some extremely creative takes of cuts off of Goulding’s latest LP Halcyon. Amtrac’s take (direct SC link) is typically all over the map and eclectic, providing several warm sounds from deep house to light trap to wobbles, all within the scope of one 7-minute remix. Star Slinger, generally known for his more downtempo, R&B-flavored offerings, gives us a surprising house remix of Ellie’s “Don’t Say A Word” (direct SC link). Remixes from Kastle, Birdy Nam Nam, Special Features and others round out the remainder of the mix and you can find the full tracklist after the jump. Download the mixtape for free HERE.

Hey! Louis La Roche also wanted to leave his disco mark on an Ellie track and dropped a free remix through his SoundCloud the other day. Pick it up below.

Stay Awake

Here’s yet another amazing collaboration involving two extremely talented artists. Between the beautiful and blonde, Ellie Goulding, and the young, French genius, Madeon, they produced their newest track called, “Stay Awake”. This Electronic Pop/Drum and Bass hit was just released on Sunday and is now on sale on Beatport! I’ll make it even easier for you, click here to purchase it now! Its upbeat tempo colliding with the amazing vocals by Ellie will have this song replaying in your mind all day. It was apparently supposed to be released on Ellie Goulding’s recent album, “Holcyon”, but it wasn’t perfected by the time of the release. After seeing the successful response to the full album, she’ll definitely be coming back into the spotlight thanks to Madeon with this track being so hot.

Triple J Mixin’ It Up with Madeon

When the French phenom known as Madeon first took the world by storm with a sample unit of 39 of his favorite songs in a three minute window on YouTube we all took noticed. Now years later, Hugo Leclercq is still mesmerizing crowds and fellow artists with his masterful use of mixing through technical and creative precision. He continues to tear through his arsenal of tracks while playing live, many still can never put together a full tracklist. As he revs up for the traditional festival season, he has teamed up with Triple J to pump out a recorded mix of over fifty tracks in just over a half an hour. The kid is still blowing minds to say the least.
