The much anticipated “Soul Satisfaction EP” from Bit Funk is due to drop very soon and the fine folks at THUMP gave us an unexpected treat this morning with the release of the first single. Bit Funk is getting really groovy as of late with this track being no exception as piano chords and a funky bass carry the melody. The soothing vocals are a fantastic selection as Bit Funk continues to stockpile original releases as his reputation grows and grows. I can’t wait for the full EP, expected later this month, as I know it will be a catalyst for a huge 2014 for this phenomenal producer!
I was hurting for motivation to say the least this morning, after four long days of partying I couldn’t think of anything that would help me kick start this long work week. And then I went on Soundcloud and saw that Spaveech had finally released his highly anticipated (at leaf for us) remix of Mat Zo and Porter Robinson‘s massive single, Easy. Taken off Zo’s breakout album “Damage Control”, Easy originally was a progressive house monster garnishing its’ own remix EP as every artist jumped on the power of those sensual lyrics. However, I felt that Zo and Robinson had created a track that could not get better, all the remixes were futile comparably. That is until Spaveech laid down his tech house transformer of a remix that slows down the beat and brings in the congo drums. I could listen to this remix all day everyday, so sexy to my ears as is everything Spaveech does. Be sure to grab the free download below!
Prep School Recordings has been one of the best surprises of the year with releases already from Wilks, The Supertraxxe, and many more as they continue to help pave the deep, disco revolution. Today marks one of the more anticipated releases from the Prep School crew with Dr. Fresch‘s self titled EP now available via Soundcloud for free download! Dr. Fresch delivers four heavy hitters ranging from nu-disco to funky garage and everything in between. My favorite track has got to be Float, a dark tune that drives deep into the dark depths of the bass. The Dr. Fresch EP overall does a great job blending the retro grooviness of the golden era with the new west coast deep house movement that is sweeping the country. Be sure to grab the entire EP for free and give your favorite doctor some love!
Mixpak Records is happy to announce a fresh remix of First Time, Dre Skull‘s blockbuster collaboration with dancehall heavyweight Popcaan and Megan James of Purity Ring. The man responsible for the remix, Curses, is the alter ego of NYC bass legend Drop the Lime. If you are unfamiliar with Curses you aren’t alone as this underground act only resurfaced earlier this year at “after hours” party scene in Brooklyn. Immediately garnishing respect from his counterparts, Curses is making headway with opening sets during Tensnake‘s debut North American tour. Curses delivers a jacking anthem of remix today that blends classic house melodicism with ruffneck UK pressure. The vocals of Megan James brings harmonious equilibrium to this deep cut. Make sure you sign up for the free download and check out the rest of Curses work via his Soundcloud page.
Young french producer Kulkid (Thomas Ouf) has recently been making waves on Soundcloud and throughout the web as a whole with features on the likes of Vice’s Thump and XLR8R. His mastery of the remix was made clear early on but it wasn’t until his first original production dropped late last month entitled U Were The One that we truly realized how much talent the 23 year old producer has. With his newest track Kulkid introduces the song with a tin pan drum and ocean type vibe complete with the crashing of waves. The song quickly and almost unexpectedly picks up though at which point Kulkid quickly slips into deep synths and perfectly manipulated vocals while letting the steel type drums hold this track together from start to finish. Kulkid’s french-disco-house type sound is very much his own and we can’t wait to see what this native of the French Alps brings to the table next.
In preparation for their debut at the world famous Liv Night Club in Miami the Chainsmokers tossed together an all around amazing electro house track entitled #selfie that includes all the elements necessary to light the club up. As we have come to love the Smokers over here at MMIBTY we have come to expect two things from these guys, great remixes, and massive drops. Although this song is a Chainsmokers original, their creative use of vocals in this track as a female goes on and on regarding her next Instagram post is nothing short of hilarious. With that said we are stoked to see the Smokers coming out with some original productions and this drop is something else let me tell you. So go grab a cigarette and turn this one up, with a build that starts almost immediately this track is sure to leave us all out of breath.
