Eric Prydz Drops Progressive “Pryda 037” EP

Things are starting to heat up again for Eric Prydz and I couldn’t be more excited. In the last few days fans were treated to a new episode of EPIC Radio (which are always fantastic in my opinion), an announcement about EPIC 5.0 which will take place in London in front of 15,000 people in May (and is already sold out), and today’s 3-song EP release under Prydz’s Pryda alias.

Out of Prydz’s three monikers, Pryda is by far my favorite. Under the Pryda umbrella Eric Prydz produces long, sprawling Progressive House songs that take you on a musical journey. Pryda tracks often lack vocals and span for long periods of time. Today’s Pryda 037 EP, for example, contains tracks clocking in from seven minutes to nearly 10.

Out of the three tracks on Pryda 037, my favorite has to be “The End is Just the Beginning”. This one was featured on EPIC Radio 014 (11.10.16) and has the most energy on the EP. The melody contained in the opening section remains intact throughout the entire 9:52 minutes and really creates an aural experience for you to get lost in. “Choo” and “The Future” round out the 3-song EP and each have their own unique way of building up and coming down throughout the various elements of the songs.

For me, Eric Prydz continues to be at the top of the dance music world and it’s studio work like this that proves the model time and time again.

If you like it go buy it!
