Travis Stewart, aka Machinedrum, has rapidly been making a name for himself in almost two decades active as an artist. In the past year, more than ever, I’ve noticed his name everywhere – tour dates, music festivals, and supreme music releases. One recent release in particular caught my attention a few weeks ago and I wanted to make sure it received proper recognition. The track is called “Angel Speak” and features MeLo-X on vocals, who gives it that badass chopped-and-screwed sound. Released in July, “Angel Speak” clocks in at 103 BPM and very much has a Moombahton vibe which is rare to hear in dance music these days, unfortunately. Surprisingly the track also works sped up as a House tune, which The Magician showed us in his Summer 2016 Magic Tape.
Overall Machinedrum is a highly talented producer with sounds that span all across the spectrum from hyphy to vibey and everything in between. Check out “Angel Speak” below as well as another selected track and look for his new album Human Energy to drop next week!
