With another summer comes another round of one of the most unique, pretty, and talent filled music festivals on earth. Yes, it is that weekend in July that dance music fans wait for all year. A weekend where we know we will have three days in a row to party our asses off to one of the most diverse and talented line-up of artists. From the production to the fabulous location at our very own Red Rocks, there is just something special about this festival that makes it feel like home. Maybe it feels that way because this is the 12th year that GLOBAL DANCE FESTIVAL has showcased all of its magic in the rocky mountains. This year the magic continues as the masterminds behind the scenes have put together an explosive line-up that is sure to please almost anyone. Whether you are a huge house fan, a huge dubstep fan, a big time trap fan,  a trance fan or anything in-between there is something for you. Aside from the top notch talent on the bill, what I love most about this festival, and the people that put it on, is their expertise at booking up-and-coming artists that are on their way to stardom. Below I will break down the five artists that I am most excited to see throughout the weekend. Let us know which artists you are looking forward to most and more importantly let’s get ready to GLOBAL DANCE!

5. Wolfgang Gartner:

Though Wolfgang has been to Global before and has spent a lot of time in the Denver clubs there is no doubt that this guy is an ace behind the decks.  Because of his high energy sets, mixing skill, and general love for playing to a Red Rocks crowd I am highly anticipating his set. Catch this man throw down on the main-stage on Sunday right before Zedd.

4. Zedd

The first time I saw Zedd was actually at Global Dance Festival 2011. At that point in time his biggest song was Shave It and he played one of the earlier slots on the upper stage! (see what I mean about booking up-and-coming talent?) He has paid his dues and since then he has won a Grammy and risen to nationally acclaimed fame. Catch him closing out Global Dance Festival on Sunday night, he’s on the main-stage this time.

3. Destroid

If one thing is for certain it’s that Denver loves its bass music. Another thing that is certain is that Destroid is made up of an all-star bass master line-up consisting of Excision, Downlink, and KJ Sawka. Be sure to catch these guys throwing down some grimey shit on the main-stage Saturday night.

2. Oliver Heldens

He’s Dutch, he’s deep, and his signature punchy sound is extremely recognizable. Maybe a new name to some out there, but this guy is making a big name for himself in the house scene. Check out his songs Gecko, Koala, and Juggernaut… I can’t wait to hear this guy rock the Rocks Sunday night on the main-stage!

1. Kygo

As far as my most anticipated act of the weekend this guy is my man. I have never seen this guy live, as far as I know he just started to tour, and his music is more of the down-tempo breed but there is no denying this kid’s production talent.  If you don’t agree with my placement just go ahead and jump on over to his Soundcloud and listen to some of his songs that have racked up millions and millions of plays. Catch him throwing down on the main-stage Friday night.

Honorable Mentions:

Madeon, Tchami, KDrew, Brillz, and Savant

Be sure to look for the MMIBTY crew out there snapping photos, handing out some stickers, and having a great ass time.
