Paper Diamond at Higher Ground 2/14/14

This has been an absolutely awesome start to 2014 for producer and DJ Paper Diamond. Starting out with bringing on in the New Year with Big Gigantic at the famous Roseland Ballroom in the Big Apple, an interview with MMIBTY that followed, a BBC 1 mixtape and now the headline act of his very own tour, the “Cold Crush” tour, Paper Diamond really is making some huge ripples in electronic dance this year.

It was Valentines day 2014, and around 750 people decided to spend their night sweaty and elated at Vermont’s own Higher Ground and the Cold Crush tour. Featuring acts from the up and coming LOUDPVCK and the well established Gent & Jawns, Paper Diamond and Co. showed up just in the nick of time (literally) to bring us a fantastic show, visually and aurally.

And when I said the nick of time, I really meant the nick of time. Getting bogged down by the snow the crew showed up with less than an hour before doors were opened. Everyone, including the artists, got to work installing the massive light rig they have been toting with them on tour. It is not often after a long trip you will see the artists performing at the venue getting their hands dirty on stage, but with a leader like Alex B, they came to get shit done and there is no way he is going to cost his loyal paying fans an iota of time after purchasing a ticket. Much to the surprise of everyone they got everything installed on time and were ready to go on schedule. Their execution of set up was seamless; not a single blip the entire show.

Being that it was Valentine’s day, and also Ryan from LOUDPVCK’s birthday, there was no reason to hold back at all on this show, especially after the gang worked so hard to put everything together, so they didn’t and gave the crowd a great selection of tunes and kept the energy flowing from beginning to end. The attendees of the shows couldn’t get enough, it was like a 4 hour mosh pit, literally from beginning to end.

With having such an experienced musician, producer, DJ and just simply an artist as their leader, it is no doubt that this tour for Paper Diamond and his crew is going to be incredibly successful and undoubtedly push them all up the charts strongly. So please if this tour is hitting your city, get tickets now, its going to sell out and you will have to hear from all your friends about how great it was and that its a bummer you didn’t get to go.
