In Case You Missed It: Doorly’s BOMB Drongoism

I’ve been listening to a lot of Mark Knight lately (click HERE for our show preview and ticket giveaway to see him this Friday at Boston’s Bijou Nightclub). And by that I mean beyond his productions I’ve been cranking his podcasts and live sets. In fact, the recent release of his 5.9.13 live set from Washington DC’s Glow Nightclub may be the best Mark Knight live set I’ve heard. As part of that set, and Knight’s recent podcasts, the Tech-House BOMB “Drongoism” by UK producer/DJ Doorly is ever-present. I had kind of written Doorly off as a Tech-House producer, as a couple of the sets I’ve seen by him over the past year leaned more towards Hip-Hop and Bass Music in general, with less of an emphasis on House music. But every time I hear “Drongoism” I get so into the song, which packs a pretty damn hard punch for a Tech-House track. It really is a massive tune and as Doorly says on his SoundCloud page, “something a little tougher”. It came out as part of the Toolroom Knights Ibiza 2013 compilation, alongside tracks from Knight, Duke Dumont, UMEK, Eats Everything, Sander van Doorn, Hot Since 82, Prok & Fitch, MK, Huxley, Chus & Ceballos and many more. I’m a little lost on the meaning of Drongoism, but it’s certainly a name that stands out. Make sure to crank up the bass on this one, you won’t be sorry!
