Diplo & Swick “Keep It Gully”

Diplo, the Philadelphia-born maestro of Moombahton is prepped to have a very busy year. He released a remix of “Sweet Nothing” with Grandtheft at the tail end of 2012 which was a huge success. His label Mad Decent has gathered a great stable of artists including fellow Moombah master Dillon Francis, The Partysquad, Zeds Dead, Trap expert Oliver Twist and of course Major Lazer, his group alongside his mate Switch. He even lends his hand to produce Hip Hop beats from time to time (check out “Slight Work“). Yet despite making a killer remix to one of the hottest songs of 2012 and doing his best Dr. Dre impersonation by running his own label, Diplo has found time to make an amazing original track. What a guy! He teamed up with Swick, a young Australian Mad Decent start up for this latest release. Urban Dictionary describes “Gully” as something from the streets, something raw or real. Diplo & Swick accurately use the word in this new track. Diplo has a great way of walking the tightrope between Hip Hop and straight Moombahton.  “Keep It Gully” follows suit with a great, funky beat that’s base line could back most any  uptempo Rap single. Keep your eye on Swick as this release will likely not be his last in 2013.  Look forward to hearing this track at a show or club near you very soon.
