Ah, Diplo. Unique, refreshing, crunk, flavorful, dynamic, non-stop, exotic, eclectic… I could go on. I was fortunate enough to be a part of the above crowd last summer at Electric Zoo 2011. Yes, Diplo was DJing without his shirt because it was so fucking hot in that place. Maybe it was the weather, or maybe it was because he threw the fuck down.
Diplo releases monthly mixes on Sirius XM Radio, called “Blow Your Head”. They often range from House to Moombahton to Hip Hop to Dubstep and they always feature songs you’ve never even heard of by artists you’ve never even heard of. This one was recorded at an airport.
This dude will likely be coming to a city near you this summer so make sure you go and check him out if given the chance, especially if you want to hear something like the Beastie Boys and Bassnectar played in the same set.
