Bassnectar’s Divergent Spectrum Stomps Your Face In

GBallz here and I am back from my two week hiatus overseas. Let me start out by saying Israelis LOVE dubstep. One night in the homeland I was playing Martin Solveig’s essential mix while hanging out with some people and an Israeli comes over to me and asks if I have anything heavier, saying the mix was “too light”. I proceeded to throw on Nero’s essential mix and the man was satisfied.

Speaking of heaviness and brain melting and all that good stuff, I bring you Bassnectar’s latest full-length album Divergent Spectrum. We here at MMIBTY realize this is coming a week late, but we needed some time to digest the material. According to Wikipedia, within the first 10 hours of its release Divergent Spectrum reached number 6 on iTunes Top 10 for album sales. The album includes many songs from the Winter 2010 and Spring 2011 tours, along with unreleased tracks. It will be the focus of Bassnectar’s 2011 Fall Tour. This guy is HUGE right now.

Although I have been a bit skeptical of Bassnectar’s work in the past, I can honestly say this album brings the fire, the wobbles, and the heavy bass he is known for. Check below for a few hand-picked favorite tracks, and make sure to buy the album if you like what you hear.

Bassnectar – Upside Down
