Let me start off by saying if you don’t know who Russ Chimes is by now, you’ve been missing out on some of the most pleasant “house” music you’ve ever heard. I’m not talking bangers here folks. His stuff is Grade A, musically driven, feel-good new age house music that is super accessible to anyone who can enjoy a nice song. While he has been under the radar for a while now, I have a good feeling this cat is going to get bigger in the US once people realize how talented he is. Don’t expect to see him at Ultra or EDC – he’d be much more likely to turn up at Cochella or another less “ravey” festival, but I can honestly say I wouldn’t miss seeing him. Here’s his new song Tonic, released on a double song EP last week. Slow buildup but make sure to listen until at least the middle of the song. If you’re not hooked by then, go get your head checked.
